Aegean and Ryanair are competing for the acquisition of Cyprus Airways

A well known Greek airline company Aegean Airlines and
the European market leader of aviation services Ryanair are the two main pretenders
for the acquisition of Cyprus Airways. According to Cyprus media, by the end of
the tender process, the government has received a total of nine acquisition proposals.
Although, only Aegean and Ryanair have requested the business plans.
By November 15th of 2014, these two companies have to present their final proposals.
Among the other contenders there were the Israeli Arkia Airlines, based in Switzerland, a major Russian investor, the Arevenca Group, S7 Airlines from Novosibirsk, Blue Air from Romania and some others.
