Recent data show that on the island, the use of clean energyhas already reached 8.1%. Indicators10 years ago were not very high, only 3.1%.
By 2020, Europe is expected that the use of"clean" electricity will reach 20%. Ministry of Commerce, Industryand Tourism of Cyprus, expresses optimistic predictions about the increase inenergy consumption from renewable sources to 13%, according to the state plan,the strategy "EU 2020".
Countries that already use renewable energy sources, with ahigh rate, such as Sweden, where the total number, 52.1% eco-friendly, Finlandwith 36.8% and Austria with 32.6%.
The lowest rate is in Luxembourg, with only 3.6%, in Malta 3.8% and in Netherlands is 4.5%. The fourth place isoccupied by the United Kingdom with an index of 5.1%.
At this point, Cyprus takes the first place in the world, byusing the solar energy for water heating in the household.
